Fans of Newcastle United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report containing comments made by former England and Manchester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson regarding the North East club.
According to reports by Chronicle Live, Eriksson recently stated: “Newcastle is a huge club, the only club in the city and the stadium is always sold out. It’s been like that since I came to England 20 years ago, even when they were down and not playing top tier football – people still coming anyhow. It would be a dream for the new manager, for whoever the new manager would be, to work in that club because for me it’s a fantastic football city.”
In reaction to the article containing his comments, which was relayed on Twitter by The Chronicle, fans of Newcastle have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many suggesting that Eriksson could potentially be looking for a job.

You’re not getting the job Sven.

The 72-year-old manager is currently without a club, having left his last position as the Philippines gaffer back in January 2019 after just nine games in charge of the country.
However, while it does seem coincidental that Eriksson has suddenly started paying Newcastle compliments while they are in the midst of a takeover bid, the former England boss has not officially declared his interest in the job.
Would you like to see Sven-Goran Eriksson appointed as Newcastle manager?
Yes
No
Having said that, it would appear that many more of the Newcastle fans appear to believe that is his ambition, with some protesting the idea, while others have claimed that the club has had worse managers.
Someone thinks the deal is on…

Eriksson’s last job in England was all the way back in 2012, when he left the Leicester City job after 55 games in charge, averaging just 1.55 points per game with the Foxes.
As such, it would appear incredibly unlikely that he would be considered for the Newcastle job, so we would suggest that Newcastle fans should concentrate their worries on other, more pressing matters.
