To start this quiz on Ruben Neves with an easy one, in the region of how much did the Old Gold pay to secure the midfielder's services?

On the topic of Neves and his performance in Wolves’ recent 1-0 win over Bournemouth, Edwards shared his thoughts on the midfielder’s performance.

He said: “You look at Ruben Neves in the middle of the park, [he] looks like he’s gained a yard or two of pace. I know that’s not really his game, his speed or whatever. He’s just got that extra bit of zip about him winning balls back. He picked up a cynical booking against Bournemouth, kind of took one for the team, but when he’s chasing back, it looks like he’s got that extra bit of spring in his step.”

Did Neves have a good game against Bournemouth?

Despite the positives Edwards took from Neves’ display against Bournemouth, the midfielder picked up a disappointing match rating of 6.12/10, making him the lowest-rated Wolves player of those who started the match (per WhoScored).

His overall performances in 31 Premier League appearances for Wolves so far this season have resulted in the 23-year-old picking up an average rating of 6.76/10, making him Wolves’ ninth-highest-rated player for this campaign (per WhoScored).

TIF Thoughts…

While it’s good to hear Edwards picking out the positives from Neves’ display in Wolves’ latest victory, his overall performance was perhaps below the standard he had been showing throughout the season in previous matches.

Neves will surely be hoping to improve the quality of his performances in Wolves’ remaining Premier League fixtures and hopefully guide his team to a potential top-four finish.
