Supporters of Newcastle United have been reacting to a Twitter post which gave an update on the proposed takeover of the club.
On Friday, The Sun reporter Alan Nixon offered an update on the progress of the takeover.
The update came in response to a tweet from @DiscoDaveToon which was enquiring if the journalist had been ‘hearing much’ on the possible takeover of the North East outfit.
Nixon’s update stated that the Premier League are waiting to do a TV deal with Saudi Arabia ‘at their end’ and that it was ‘all a bit political’.
The journalist’s tweet then concluded that England’s top flight wants to ‘get something out of it’ and then they will ‘nod it through’.
Lots of Newcastle supporters then flocked to Nixon’s tweet to air their opinions on what the reporter had stated.
Looks like Premier want Saudis to do a TV deal at their end … all a bit political … get something out of it … nod it through. https://t.co/m8LseI3Qz5

To be fair, they’ve cracked down on piracy. How much more are they going to extract from this? The wait can’t go on and on. We need a decision now.

The current takeover saga surrounding the Toon has been rolling on since late January, which was when the interest from Amanda Staveley backed by PIF first emerged (via Shields Gazette).
However, lots of the St. James’ Park faithful had comments to make on the latest takeover update from the journalist.
If the PL don’t stop messing the Saudis about & making them jump through hoop after hoop they’re gonna walk away from all this very soon, & who can blame them tbh.

This isn’t how TV rights work….

As can be seen in the responses from Newcastle supporters, there was a mixed reaction over what the journalist had updated them with.
