An update has been provided on the release of next season’s West Ham United kits by in-the-know reporter @ExWHUemployee.

The English brand Umbro is set to make the Hammers’ kits until 2023 and earlier this year it was suggested that there had been a hint released over what the next kit would look like (per Football.london).

Next season is the London Stadium club’s 125-year anniversary and it is suspected that the upcoming kits will commemorate that in some way.

However, on the latest episode of The West Ham Way podcast, @ExWHUemployee revealed that a “promo” of the kits should already have been released.

To start this quiz on West Ham kits erring on the side of easy, which company is currently the main shirt sponsor?

He said: “In terms of the new kit, people have asked me about this, there was meant to be a kit promo last week, but it got cancelled.

“I won’t say why because I’ve been asked not to but it’s a typical could-only-happen-at-West Ham story, which is quite amusing. I won’t say why because I’ve been asked not to do but like I say, it is a classic thing that only really would happen to us.

“But, I do believe in the next few days, the kit’s already been designed, but the promo will retake because it was meant to happen before.

“I have been told about the kits, as I’ve said before on this show, they are very similar to previous ones to celebrate our anniversary as such.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be judged from what the in-the-know podcast pundit had to say, it seems that something has gone on behind the scenes to delay the release of the kit.

While @ExWHUemployee does not state exactly what has happened, it seems from him being asked not to reveal what it is, it may be something which reflects poorly upon the club.
