Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to a tweet from Eric Dier ahead of Friday evening’s clash with Manchester United.
The 26-year-old shared an image of himself in training at Hotspur Way looking delighted, with the caption: “Football is back”. Top-flight football in England had been suspended since March due to the current viral outbreak but resumed earlier this week and Spurs restart their own campaign with an important game against Manchester United on Friday night.
It has been suggested that the England international could be set for a more regular role at centre-back in Jose Mourinho’s side in the upcoming games, with the former Sporting Lisbon man impressing there in Spurs’ FA Cup fixture against Norwich City (per WhoScored) shortly before the enforced break.
Do you think Dier will be a regular in the remaining fixtures?
Yes
No
So far this season, the Spurs man has made just 14 appearances in the Premier League, averaging a disappointing 6.63 rating (per WhoScored), something he will no doubt be keen to improve on in the remaining top-flight fixtures.
