Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to slam the performance of Heung-min Son against Manchester United on Friday night.
The South Korean didn’t appear to have the worst of games against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, earning a 7.92/10 rating for his performance, handing him WhoScored’s highest rating from the match – but that hasn’t stopped some Lilywhites supporters from criticising the 27-year-old on Twitter. The winger did arguably miss a big chance to extend Spurs’ lead in the first half when his header was well saved by David de Gea (per BBC).
The former Bayer Leverkusen man has enjoyed an excellent season so far for Spurs, contributing nine goals and seven assists in 22 appearances in the top flight (per WhoScored). It also appeared as if the winger would miss the rest of the season when he suffered a fractured arm injury in the win against Aston Villa back in February, but the enforced break has given him sufficient time to recover and hopefully for Spurs fans, he will be able to have a big impact in the remaining fixtures.
Do you think Son was poor against United?
Yes
No

Kane was weak.

If this is the future of Spurs under Mourinho it’s not going to be pretty. Little has improved since the break and still unable to keep a clean sheet. We look like a mid table team. Son and Kane looked far off the pace. Impressive work rate again by Sissoko. #THFC #COYS https://t.co/2FfL96W7hG

One Spurs fan compared Son to Christian Eriksen in terms of his set-piece-taking ability, with the departed Dane gaining a reputation for poorly-taken corners at Tottenham.
Son is the new Eriksen for taking corners #COYS #TOTMNU

Is it just me or is Son’s playing off today? #totmun #coys

Some Lilywhites supporters bemoaned the South Korean’s missed chance in the first half.
Happy with that first half. If Son had a bit more composure we’d be 2 up #COYS

Kane and Son completely ineffective. Can’t understand the game plan here, almost feels like we’re playing to not get beat rather than to win. #COYS

Overall, it seems as if a lot of Spurs fans weren’t too happy with Son’s performance against United and will be hoping to see better in the remaining fixtures.
