Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to slam the performance of Heung-min Son against Manchester United on Friday night.

The South Korean didn’t appear to have the worst of games against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, earning a 7.92/10 rating for his performance, handing him WhoScored’s highest rating from the match – but that hasn’t stopped some Lilywhites supporters from criticising the 27-year-old on Twitter. The winger did arguably miss a big chance to extend Spurs’ lead in the first half when his header was well saved by David de Gea (per BBC).

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? - Who did Spurs beat in the opening fixture?

The former Bayer Leverkusen man has enjoyed an excellent season so far for Spurs, contributing nine goals and seven assists in 22 appearances in the top flight (per WhoScored). It also appeared as if the winger would miss the rest of the season when he suffered a fractured arm injury in the win against Aston Villa back in February, but the enforced break has given him sufficient time to recover and hopefully for Spurs fans, he will be able to have a big impact in the remaining fixtures.

Do you think Son was poor against United?

A sample of tweets from Spurs fans slamming Son’s performance against United can be seen below.

One Spurs fan compared Son to Christian Eriksen in terms of his set-piece-taking ability, with the departed Dane gaining a reputation for poorly-taken corners at Tottenham.

Some Lilywhites supporters bemoaned the South Korean’s missed chance in the first half.

Overall, it seems as if a lot of Spurs fans weren’t too happy with Son’s performance against United and will be hoping to see better in the remaining fixtures.
