Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to a report on Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma.

Spurs have been linked with a move for the French defender in recent weeks, and now L’Equipe (as per Sport Witness) have suggested that the 25-year-old defender would like to stay in England should he leave Stamford Bridge this summer, and has always appreciated the methodology of Jose Mourinho. It also suggests that the two haven’t lost contact since working together at Chelsea and that the Portuguese manager would welcome a move for the Frenchman this summer.

How well do you remember Heung-Min Son's time with Spurs? - The Lilywhites signed Son from which Bundesliga side?

Mourinho signed Zouma from AS Saint-Etienne during his time at Stamford Bridge, so it could certainly be argued that he is a fan of the centre-back. With Spurs having kept just four clean sheets in the Premier League so far this season, you could also argue that they are in need of defensive reinforcements this summer.

Would Zouma be a good signing for Spurs?

Perhaps the former Stoke and Everton loanee could prove to be Spurs’ long-term replacement for Jan Vertonghen, with the Belgian defender set to leave the North London club this summer when his current contract expires. However, with the Chelsea man currently valued at £25.2 million by Transfermarkt, he would perhaps prove to be too expensive for Mourinho this summer, due to the financial constraints that he will no doubt have to deal with as a result of the current viral outbreak.

Reaction from Spurs fans to the latest news on Zouma can be seen in the tweets below.

It seems as if a lot of Spurs fans aren’t keen on the idea of signing the 25-year-old this summer.

Lilywhites fans continued airing their distaste for the transfer rumour in their replies.

Overall, it seems as if the majority of Spurs fans don’t want to see their club sign Zouma this summer.
