Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to a tweet from Davinson Sanchez.

The Colombian defender shared a tweet from the club’s Spanish-language Twitter account, which features a fan drawing of the former Ajax man wearing both his club and international colours. He simply included a Colombian flag and a white heart emoji, clearly loving the sight of the drawing of himself on Twitter.

How well do you remember Heung-Min Son's time with Spurs? - The Lilywhites signed Son from which Bundesliga side?

Spurs signed the centre-back from Ajax in 2017 for what was then a club-record fee, and in three years with the North London club, he has gone on to make 110 appearances, contributing one goal and one assist (per Transfermarkt). So far this season, the 23-year-old has perhaps struggled to impress in his performances in the Premier League – averaging a 6.74/10 rating across 22 appearances (per WhoScored).

His slightly disappointing average rating is perhaps unsurprising when you consider that the Lilywhites have kept just four clean sheets in the Premier League so far this season – something the young defender will no doubt be keen to improve on when the season resumes later this month. However, his average rating of 7.09 in the Champions League shows that he can still be an important player for the North London club when he is at his best.

Can Sanchez be a big player for Spurs next season?

Reaction from Spurs fans to the post from Sanchez can be seen in the tweets below.

Other Spurs fans continued airing their support for the defender in their replies.

One fan even suggested that Sanchez was the most underrated centre-back in the league, whilst one Colombian fan of Sanchez commented ‘crack’, which is often used as a compliment in Spanish.

These Spurs fans clearly enjoyed the tweet from Sanchez, and will no doubt be looking forward to seeing the defender back in action when the Premier League resumes later this month.
