A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Pete Graves after he was asked by one Newcastle fan why Sky Sports weren’t covering the fact the Toon are refusing to refund fans.

To kick things off, who is this man from the 2009/10 season?

This caused Graves to respond by saying that the money is sitting in the club’s accounts and that he feels that takeover is having an impact.

The Sky Sports man claimed that the Toon’s proposed takeover is now in the ‘final throes’ and that he thinks the refunds will be sorted as soon as the takeover is.

This drew a response from some Toon fans who did not agree with Graves.

The Evening Chronicle had previously attempted to reach out for comment from Newcastle on why they are not refunding fans despite other clubs doing so.

However, they received no response, and it appears that it is this lack of communication that has annoyed these Newcastle supporters.

If the takeover is having an impact on the club’s ability to refund fans, then surely, they should just say so rather than saying nothing?

This wall of silence makes no sense as fans want to know where their money is and why they can’t have it back.

The ongoing takeover of the Toon by Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium is with the Premier League going through the required checks after a deposit was paid to Ashley.

This could be slowing down the refunds process, but Mark Douglas does not think so as he believes that this situation has been going on longer than any takeover talk.

Graves’ line on the final throes of the takeover got a few Toon fans excited who appear hopeful that this long-running saga is coming to an end.

Graves’ tweet clearly angered some Toon fans who maybe feel he is trying to blame the takeover rather than the club’s hierarchy.

Hopefully, the takeover situation is resolved soon, so Toon fans can possibly get their money back.
