On the likelihood of Jimenez moving to Anfield this summer, Addison shared his views on the potential deal.

He said: “He’s obviously a very impressive player. As you say, he is sort of picked out from time to time as an ideal Roberto Firmino replacement, but Raul Jimenez actually is a year older than Firmino, so it doesn’t make it a great deal of sense, really.

“I think stylistically, of course, they are fairly similar. He does get good numbers in terms of goals and assists per se, but for me, there’s not really any chance of Liverpool being interested – certainly not this summer and by the time we get to next summer, he’ll be another year older; he’ll be 30 before Roberto Firmino will.

“It’s always good for players to put Liverpool’s name into the mix, and certainly agents and different clubs, if they’re trying to sell, will always put Liverpool’s name in the mix for players, so it does generate a little bit of extra interest. But whether Raul Jimenez thinks that it would be ‘very cool’ to play for Liverpool or not, it’s not one that I can see happening, to be fair.”

Jimenez recently revealed to Jessica Coch (via Daily Mail) that he finds it ‘very cool’ being linked with a transfer move to the likes of Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester United.

The Mexican has been in impressive form for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side so far this season having scored 22 and assisted 10 in all competitions (as per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts…

While Jimenez has registered a strong goalscoring record so far this season for Wolves, this hasn’t done much to convince Addison that Liverpool would be interested in signing the striker this summer.
