Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to some news on Steven Bergwijn.

In the latest CIES Football Observatory transfer value updates, the Dutch winger is valued between €50-70m (£44.6-62.5m), which is significantly more than Spurs paid for the 22-year-old in January, with Transfermarkt suggesting that the North London club splashed out a mere £27m. After TranSPURS shared this news on Twitter, Lilywhites supporters were quick to have their say on the former PSV Eindhoven ace.

How well do you remember Heung-Min Son's time with Spurs? - The Lilywhites signed Son from which Bundesliga side?

Since signing, the Dutchman has made just five appearances in the Premier League, contributing two goals, earning an average rating of 6.96/10 (per WhoScored). It had looked as if injury would rule the winger out for the rest of the season, when he suffered a significant sprain to his ankle during the 1-1 draw with Burnley back in March (per BBC), but it was confirmed by Jose Mourinho that he will be back fit for the Premier League’s restart later this month.

Some Spurs fans were quick to praise chairman Daniel Levy for his negotiating skills, with them clearly feeling that the North London club got a good deal for Bergwijn.

One fan suggested that the Dutchman is an upgrade on Lucas Moura, which is backed up by the Brazilian’s slightly inferior 6.89 average rating from the Premier League season so far.

One fan joked that they shouldn’t tell Levy this news, in case he tries to sell the 22-year-old on for a big profit.

Overall, it seems as if these Spurs fans are delighted with the impact Bergwijn has made so far in his Lilywhites career and will be hoping to see a lot more of the winger in the remaining top-flight fixtures.
