Supporters of Newcastle United have been flocking to tweets which were posted to social media regarding a statement which was released by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

On Wednesday morning, The Telegraph reporter Luke Edwards relayed two screenshots to social media.

The tweet stated that the first was taken from a ‘KSA statement last night’ and the second was taken from the ‘WTO Ruling last week’.

Following this tweet from Edwards, solicitor and Newcastle supporter @RedRoseMichelle shared her take on what the screenshots meant for the takeover of the Toon in a 10-tweet thread.

Following that, lots of the St. James’ Park faithful flocked to it to air their view on what she had tweeted.

Nice easy one to start off with, which club did Newcastle United sign Shearer from in 1996?

The initial tweet from Edwards had seemed to cause some uncertainty amongst Newcastle fans judging from their responses, however, they had been calmed by @RedRoseMichelle’s response, which played down the concerns raised by Edwards.

According to the bio of @RedRoseMichelle, she is a solicitor that works in corporate crime who appears on Magpies-focused podcast All With Smiling Faces.

So, it is perhaps no surprise that supporters of the Toon were calmed by the fact that she ended her thread by stating her belief that the matter will not ‘have any impact’ on the club’s takeover.

Do you think the statement from the SPA will have any impact on the takeover?

No, it'll be alright

As can be seen in these responses from the St. James’ Park faithful, it seems that supporters were calmed following @RedRoseMichelle’s Twitter thread.
