According to reports, Manchester City winger Jack Harrison – who is currently on loan at Leeds United – has stated that he would be open to remaining at Elland Road beyond the end of this season.

Harrison, who arrived at City from New York City FC for a fee of £3.60m back in 2018, has been an integral part of Leeds’ promotion push this season, featuring in all 37 Championship fixtures for the club, over which he has scored five goals and provided seven assists, averaging an impressive WhoScored match rating of 7.04/10.

And despite the fact that the 23-year-old’s loan deal ends this summer, the player has spoken rather openly about the possibility of remaining at Leeds beyond the end of this season.

In an interview with Leeds Live, he stated: “It’s been great for my development. As a player, it’s hard for me to say why I wouldn’t want to come back here. For me, it’s been a great experience. The lads have been great, working with the coaching staff I’ve learnt a lot and just the club as a whole have really helped me out.”

TIF Thoughts…

While Leeds do reportedly have an option to purchase Harrison once the transfer window opens for a fee of £8million, there has been no confirmation from Marcelo Bielsa or his team as to whether the club will be making a move for the winger.

Having said that, it seems incredibly unlikely that a player who has made 63 consecutive starts since December 2018 under Bielsa would not be considered to be bought permanently this summer.
