This news was revealed at the same time the club announced Lallana signed a contract extension that would allow him to take part in the remainder of the current Premier League season when it resumes later this month.

Talking to the Liverpool website (via TalkSPORT), Reds manager Jurgen Klopp said: “I know how highly sought after Adam is in this moment by other clubs who want him for next season, so for him this is a commitment to us and we are very appreciative to him for it. This is absolutely how it should be, too, because I am so pleased he will be with us to finish the job this season and have the farewell he deserves so much.”

The 32-year-old, who is currently valued at £8.55 million according to Transfermarkt, first signed to the Merseyside club back in 2014 from fellow Premier League side Southampton for a fee of £27.9 million (per Transfermarkt).

Since then, the midfielder has gone on to make 178 total appearances for the club in which he has managed to score 22 goals and provide 22 assists (per Transfermarkt).

Unfortunately for the Englishman, injuries have disrupted his time at the club, keeping him in and out of the squad on multiple occasions (per Transfermarkt).

This season, in particular, has seen Lallana make 15 out of a possible 29 Premier League appearances so far this year (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts…

These comments from Klopp just prove how important Lallana has been for Liverpool during his time at the club and how valued he is by the German.

Wherever Lallana ends up next season, if he can overcome his injury issues and get regular playing time, this would be a big boost for him.
