A recent report by Tutto Napoli has claimed that both Everton and Atletico Madrid are interested in the summer signing of Napoli defensive midfielder, Allan.

According to the report, Rai journalist and ‘market expert’ Ciro Venerato recently stated on The Goal Show that Allan ‘will be sold’ this summer, with talks being held between Napoli and both of Carlo Ancelotti of Everton and Andrea Berta of Atletico Madrid.

We'll start easy for this Everton kits quiz, which shirt sponsor did the Toffees announce that their partnership with would be being brought to a premature end earlier this season?

Tutto Napoli also reports that Venerato claimed Napoli will likely ask for around €50million (£44.7million) for Allan, but in reality, they expect the fee to eventually be somewhere around €40million (£35.8million).

TIF Thoughts…

Since joining Napoli from Udinese for a fee of £10.35million back in 2015, the Brazilian midfielder has gone on to make 204 appearances for Gli Azzurri, scoring 10 goals and providing 16 assists.

So far this season, Allan has featured 16 times in Serie A, scoring one goal and providing one assist, averaging 2.8 tackles, 0.7 interceptions and 0.8 key passes per game, as well as a WhoScored match rating of 6.75.

However, somewhat surprisingly, the midfielder has fared slightly better over his six appearances in the Champions League this season, averaging a match rating of 6.90.

As such, should Everton be successful in their reported attempts to sign the £28.8million-rated 29-year-old, it would seem like Ancelotti would be getting a fairly consistent performer, who is capable in both a defensive capacity in the midfield as well as going forward.

Having said this, considering Allan is 29-years-old, as well as his current market valuation, €40million (£35.8million) does seem to be slightly on the expensive side.

Would you be pleased if the Toffees signed Allan for somewhere around the £30million mark?

Yes, would be a good deal

No, he's not worth that

No, he's not worth that

However, with Ancelotti having previously worked with Allan when he was manager of Napoli, he will likely know exactly how much the player has left to offer, and whether the 29-year-old is worth the figure that Napoli have put on his head.
