A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Magpies-focused Twitter account @NUFC360 that includes a link to a statement that was recently released by the Saudi Arabian government which discusses the World Trade Organisation’s (WTO’s) ruling on the government’s involvement with broadcaster BeoutQ that had been engaged in piracy.
This statement from the Saudi government declares that the WTO panel decided that “Saudi Arabia’s national security defence was justified under WTO rules” before going on to state that the panel “rejected claims that the Saudi government supported the alleged copyright piracy”.
As per the Daily Mail, questions over Saudi Arabia’s conduct in relation to beoutQ had complicated the ongoing Saudi-backed takeover attempt of Newcastle United and after this statement was shared to Toon fans by @NUFC360, plenty of Newcastle supporters provided their thoughts on this news.

Lots of Newcastle fans responded positively to this statement, revealing that they believe this is a positive sign for the Saudi-backed takeover of the club being completed.

That’s that then.. let’s get this takeover approved.

It’s safe to say it’s in the clear based on this

As explained by the BBC, the WTO did declare that Saudi Arabia “facilitated the beoutQ operation and had ‘acted in a manner inconsistent’ with international law protecting intellectual property rights” in their judgement of this case. The BBC also reported that the WTO’s ruling could still complicate the completion of the ongoing Saudi-backed takeover attempt of Newcastle United.
However, that didn’t stop some Toon fans from reacting positively to @NUFC360’s tweet sharing this statement.
I knew they had nothing on them and now the P L should green light takeover.
Loads of cans at the ready .

A positive step for the Newcastle takeover…
WTO has concluded there are no links between Saudi Arabia and beoutQ and will not intervene with the purchase of Newcastle United.

Soo, takeover approved now?

Considering that the WTO is said to have decided that the Saudi government did facilitate the BeoutQ operation, the ongoing Saudi-backed Newcastle United takeover attempt may not be totally in the clear yet.
