Kightly spoke about many things, but spent a lot of time on Dyche and the job he has done for Burnley, and confessed that he could see him leaving Turf Moor at the end of the season.

There have been rumours that Dyche is unhappy with how things are going at the club, and when discussing his future, this is what Kightly had to say, following a tight-lipped response to questions over his future after their win over the Eagles on Monday:

“You just wonder if there has been some sort of disagreement with the owners and whether he is actually happy because he’s not really answering the question and he’s being pretty clever with it.

“It will be interesting to see what happens at the end of the season whether he does stay or go, and if he gets an opportunity with a bigger club, it might be time for him to move on.”

It seems as if Kightly thinks Dyche could leave Burnley if a bigger club come calling.

TIF Thoughts…

Crystal Palace were linked with a move for Dyche as they accept that Hodgson, who is 72, can’t carry on forever.

However, he has signed a new deal at Selhurst Park – so it is unlikely that Hodgson will be going anywhere this summer.

Dyche, though, could be the ideal replacement for Hodgson at some point as he has recently achieved a seventh-placed finish with Burnley and the club have not been relegated since they were promoted to the Premier League in 2016.

Dyche has done a brilliant job at Turf Moor, but Hodgson’s new deal could mean he won’t be moving to Selhurst Park anytime soon.
