What do we think?
While these West Brom fans appear to be pleased by this news, Edwards hasn’t enjoyed a particularly impressive run of form this season. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has failed to make a single assist in 24 Championship appearances this term. He has also scored just two league goals this season.
Furthermore, Edwards has earned an average overall rating of 6.47 for his 24 Championship appearances this season according to WhoScored. 18 other Baggies players have earned a higher average overall rating than him this term.
With that in mind, Edwards may struggle next season should the Baggies, who currently sit in second place on the Championship table, successfully achieve promotion to the Premier League for the 2020/21 campaign.
