West Brom-focused Twitter account @BaggiesHQ recently caught the attention of many Baggies supporters after they posted a tweet asking the club’s fans whether or not they think the club should “launch a permanent move” for Callum Robinson in the summer.

Plenty of West Brom fans have been responding to this tweet to have their say and many of the Baggies supporters who have been replying to this post have been sharing that they would like to see the club bring Callum Robinson to The Hawthorns on a permanent deal this summer.

Robinson joined the Baggies on loan from Sheffield United back in January and it may be fair to say that he has delivered some impressive performances in his time at The Hawthorns thus far.

The Republic of Ireland international has earned an average overall rating of 7.20 from his eight Championship appearances for West Brom thus far, according to WhoScored, giving him the third-highest average overall rating of any Baggies player in the league this term.

Robinson’s performances thus far during his loan spell at West Brom may have been impressive enough for some Baggies fans to call for the attacker to make a permanent move to the club. Read the recent posts from some of the West Brom supporters who have been calling for the Baggies to sign Robinson on a permanent deal in the tweets below.

What do we think?

It may be fair to say that Robinson has delivered some promising performances for West Brom, however, it may also be fair to say that the attacker was less impressive in the Premier League with Sheffield United earlier this season.

According to WhoScored, Robinson earned an average overall rating of just 6.27 in the Premier League this season before the Blades sent him out on loan. 17 other Sheffield United players have earned a higher average overall rating than Robinson in the league this term. With that in mind, it may be questionable whether or not Robinson is a Premier League quality player, which may be something for Baggies fans to think about with the club currently sitting in second place on the Championship table, six points clear of third-placed Fulham.

Should the Baggies earn promotion to the Premier League for next season, Robinson may not be the answer for them.
