Some Sheffield Wednesday supporters have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Owls-focused journalist Dom Howson which shares some statistics about Wednesday’s form in front of goal this season.
Howson’s tweet shares that no Championship team have scored fewer home goals than the Owls during the 2019/20 campaign. Additionally, Howson’s tweet also shares that Wednesday have scored only two first-half goals in Garry Monk’s 15 home league games as Owls manager.
The journalist shares a link to an article from Yorkshire Live, in which he discusses these statistics, describing them as “alarming” and plenty of the Wednesday supporters who have been responding to his tweet also appear to be alarmed by these statistics, with many of them slating Monk in response to the post.

No team in the Championship has scored fewer home goals (16) than #SWFC this season.
They have only scored TWO first half goals at S6 in Garry Monk's 15 league matches in charge.@LiveSwfc https://t.co/56cpV0vSYO

Monk isn’t good enough. Not just him to blame but the fact he is still in charge shows how bad we are. Get him sacked ASAP #swfc

That is shambolic and I’ve never known us have a manager who gets let off with so many excuses for being poor, it’s the same fans who say it’s everyone else’s fault but Jordan Rhodes for his lack of performances and goals. We have enough attacking talent so it’s poor from Monk.

He’s been dealt a tough hand with a stale squad who need to take a portion of the blame but his tactics, man management and arrogance have made things worse. Monk is awful, there’s a reason he hasn’t stayed anywhere long. I don’t trust he to rebuild squad. #SWFC #MonkOut

What do we think?
As per Transfermarkt, the Owls sit in 18th place on the Championship’s home form table for the 2019/20 campaign, with only five points separating them from the league’s worst home side this season. Additionally, only two Championship teams have got a worse goal difference than Wednesday at home this season.
With that in mind, it may be understandable why these Owls fans have been frustrated by their side’s performances at Hillsborough this season.
