4- hate to put it that low cos he’s a born leader and has great attitude and desire but, at championship level he’s just too slow and a bit of a liability with the lunging into tackles in the box! Do a good job in league one next season though ??

5 – I love the man, great captain, team player & a warrior but he’s just too slow on & off the ball for the Champ. Will probably do a good job again in L1 next season.

One of the most overrated players in the squad. Has never looked the same since league one. Cost on countless occasions with clumsy fouls and stupid decisions. 4/10

4 boarding on 3 – too slow and clumsy for the championship and I personally felt he got worse as the games went on

What do we think?
As per WhoScored, Pearce has earned an average overall rating of 6.62 from his 30 league appearances this term. 13 other players have earned a higher average overall rating than this for the Addicks this season. With that in mind, it may not come as a big surprise that these Charlton fans have been somewhat critical of the defender’s performances during the 2019/20 campaign.
However, Pearce has won the highest number of aerials per game for the Addicks this season according to WhoScored, which may indicate that there have been some positives to his performances for Charlton this term.
