Sheffield Wednesday-focused journalist Dom Howson attracted the attention of many Owls supporters recently after he posted a tweet sharing an article that was recently published by Yorkshire Live which discusses the goalkeeping department at Sheffield Wednesday.
This article shares some comments that were recently made by Tommy Lee, who recently left his position as an academy goalkeeping coach at Wednesday to join Sheffield United.
Lee is quoted as saying that the goalkeeping department is “one of the areas where the club is really healthy” at present, going on to state that the club have got “great competition there”.
Some Wednesday fans have disagreed with this assessment of the club’s goalkeeping department in response to Howson’s tweet sharing this article.

Sorry not often I disagree with you Dom but I do here Monk clearly doesn’t want Westwood for me I always feel we’ll concede with Dawson in goal Wildsmith is a backup if we lose Westwood I think a new keeper is needed

Heavily disagree Dom! Only westy is good enough and if he’s not playing then I’m afraid we need to be in the market for 2 new keepers if we are ever to challenge at top end ! @swfc

Have to disagree. Apart from Westwood who will leave at the end of the season we haven’t got a stand out keeper. Just average keepers.

Is Keiren Westwood Sheffield Wednesday's best goalkeeper?YESNO |
Lower end championship keepers at best. We’ve missed a massive trick not getting them out on loan in the last few seasons. Keeper would be my priority signing.

Can’t rely on any, my order would still be Westwood, wildsmith, Dawson

I wish I could agree…..

What do we think?
This Yorkshire Live article explains that Wednesday manager Garry Monk has “frozen out” Keiren Westwood this season. Meanwhile, some of these Wednesday fans appear to feel that Westwood is their best goalkeeper and don’t seem to have much faith in the club’s other ‘keepers. Westwood is also described as the “fans’ favourite” in this article.
With that in mind, it may be understandable why some Owls fans have disagreed with Lee’s assessment of the club’s goalkeeping department.
