Fans of Rangers have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which shares an image of the front page of the Evening Times from back in 2013.
The Evening Times ran with the front-page headline of “Rangers fans rage at charity snub’ – a story regarding the organisers of the Gibson Street Gala banning a group of Rangers fans from collecting money for charity at the event.
After an image of the front page was shared on Twitter, fans of the club flocked to have their say, with many labelling the decision a disgrace.
Do you believe there is a media bias against Rangers?

That’s a disgrace,
if they are considered ‘controversial’ then it shows just how effective demonisation of our fanbase really is.
Something needs to be done about this.

Questions need to be asked. What deems @thefounderstrail controversial?

Keep up the good work lads. The Founders Trail is a great day out and all for a worthy cause.

What do we think?
While the report stated that the Rangers stall, in aid of The Founders Trail – an organisation which researches the history of the club – was rejected permission to the Gibson Street Gala because it was “too controversial”, and fans of Rangers evidently still believe that the rejection of the stall was extremely unjust.
Eric Kay, secretary of the Gibson Street Gala, stated:
“Last year, permission was given to a stall for The Gallant Pioneers, which we understood to be a stall about the history of football. However, it turned out to be a stall about the history of Rangers Football Club.”
He continued: “But we are a very small community event and, since then, we have had some complaints about the stall. I think some people were a bit surprised to see colours that are so connected with Rangers all over the stall.”
As such, it would appear that the application for the Rangers fans’ stall was rejected because of complaints from within the community.
However, it seems that Rangers fans have still not accepted this reasoning, and still consider the rejection of the stall a disgrace.
