Fans of Rangers have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which David Tanner relays news that Aberdeen are to side with the Gers in the upcoming SPFL EGM vote.

The vote, which is scheduled for Tuesday, is in regards to Rangers’ request for a second independent inquiry into the league’s ballot to end the season as things stand in the Scottish Championship, League One and League Two.

On Monday, Tanner tweeted that Aberdeen would be backing Rangers in their call for a second inquiry into the SPFL, with Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack stating: “We reiterate our belief that an independent inquiry is the only way of drawing a line under what has become a highly damaging episode for the whole of Scottish football.”

In reaction to Tanner’s tweet, fans of Rangers flocked to have their say on the matter, with many suggesting that there has indeed been a clear lack of leadership on the part of the SPFL, while others have claimed that they cannot understand why Scottish clubs would not want a second inquiry into the SPFL.

What do we think?

With all of the publicly aired arguments between Rangers and the SPFL board of late, it would seem as if the only way for the SPFL to come through the other side of this situation with their reputation intact is indeed to encourage a second independent inquiry to take place.

If the SPFL board truly has nothing to hide, a second investigation would prove no wrongdoing on their part, and clear their name of any accusations that have been made.

However, it would appear that these Rangers fans are convinced of the SPFL’s guilt already, and whether or not their stance has the chance to be vindicated very much hangs on Tuesday’s vote.
