Some Celtic fans have been raving at Martin O’Neill after an audio clip of the former Hoops boss caught their attention on Twitter.
A Celtic-related page recently posted an audio clipping on Twitter and it had O’Neill talking to BBC Sportsound in a recent episode.
The clipping had O’Neill say that he does ‘definitely miss’ many things about managing the Hoops. He said that he misses going up to Pittodrie and ‘beating Aberdeen 3-0’. He also aimed a dig at the Daily Record for them saying that the Hoops were ‘lucky’ despite them winning 3-0.
When Tam Sellics Son relayed this clipping, it left many Celtic fans raving. They hailed O’Neill for his comments.

O’Neill was the Celtic manager for around four years. He had joined the club as the boss in the summer of 2001 and after four years at Parkhead, left in the summer of 2005. He went on to manage Aston Villa and Sunderland (via Transfermarkt).
What do we think?
Celtic fans certainly seem enthralled by what O’Neill said. His comments against the Daily Record pleased them and helped create an ‘us against them’ mentality among Hoops fans.
Considering how O’Neill helped the club win three Premiership titles and as many Scottish Cups, Celtic fans are bound to respect him for his contributions to the club.
