Some Rangers fans have flocked to a tweet from @Gordon_Watson, a commentator for Sky Sport and OFC TV, in addition to being Auckland City FC’s Media Manager, after he recently shared some footage of Neil Doncaster which he states “didn’t age well”.

Watson’s tweet has caught the attention of some Gers supporters who have taken this opportunity to share some criticism for the SPFL’s chief executive. The footage Watson shares is from an interview that Doncaster conducted with the BBC back in April in which he declares that “if anyone is suggesting bullying or coercion” by him or any member of the SPFL’s staff, it is their “duty to bring it to the attention of the chairman of the SPFL”.

Since Doncaster conducted this interview, Rangers have released a “dossier of evidence against the SPFL” to support their criticism of the SPFL’s handling of the vote to end the 2019/20 season in Scotland’s lower leagues back in April.

SPFL clubs will vote on Rangers’ proposed independent investigation into the SPFL’s conduct on Tuesday, 12 May. Meanwhile, Doncaster has stated that SPFL clubs “will suffer if legal action is taken”, as per the BBC

What do we think?

Considering that Doncaster had previously urged those with concerns regarding the SPFL’s conduct to bring them to light, it may be understandable why some Gers supporters have been critical of this footage considering how Doncaster and the SPFL have since responded to Gers’ dossier of evidence.
