Supporters of Wolverhampton Wanderers have been reacting to a report on when UEFA wants to finish the Europa League competition.
According to the Express, which cited a schedule published by Marca, UEFA wants domestic seasons wrapped up by the end of July so that they can ‘blitz through’ the Champions League and Europa League over a three-week period in August (via @TalkingWolves), which fans reacted to.
UEFA reportedly wants domestic seasons wrapped up by the end of July if possible so they can blitz through the latter stages of the UCL & Europa League in a three-week period which will see a match being played almost every day. The rigours of one of the longest European campaigns by any club, hurriedly blitzed through in a few weeks.
The remaining football season will be the one to forget.— Mart (@Molineuxworld) May 10, 2020
Yes let’s blitz through the biggest games in our history with no fans there to enjoy it

Insanity , joke of a TV spectacular just to get paid.
Null and void domestic seasons , finish CL and Europa as cup knockout closed door tournament, 1hr game each 2days ?
STAY SAFE.
Rest up , and start new football season with fans when safe to do so.— Teebeeroxmore (@teebeeroxmore) May 11, 2020
Is the proposed idea from UEFA on the Europa League and Champions League a good one?No, would be terribleYes, it's the only way |
The Old Gold still have the second leg of their last-16 tie with Olympiacos left to play in the Europa League after the two sides played out a 1-1 draw in Greece (per BBC).
However, after the report was shared to social media by @TalkingWolves, sections of the Molineux faithful had similar concerns over finishing the competition within a three-week period.
Our small squad is done then

What do we think?
As can be seen in the responses from these Wolves supporters, it seems that none are happy with the proposed idea and there are a number of concerns that fans have.
However, with Wolves’ passage to the quarter-finals of the competition yet to be confirmed (per BBC), there appears to be little point worrying over the prospect of playing six fixtures in three weeks just yet.
