Charlton Athletic’s official Twitter account recently posted a tweet sharing a link to an article from the club’s official website, which shares some comments that club director Marian Mihail recently made in an interview with the Charlton Athletic Supporters’ Trust (CAST).
As per castrust.org, Mihail discusses the club’s majority shareholder Tahnoon Nimer in this interview. When asked about the club’s funding, Mihail explains that Nimer has said that “he will inject funds into the club to keep it going when the club needs it”, but he “won’t inject additional funding to that which is necessary at this stage”, citing the EFL’s investigation into East Street Investments’ takeover of the club, as well as issues with the club’s ex-directors and ex-chairman Matt Southall as the reasons for that.
A lot of Charlton fans have been reacting to their club’s tweet sharing these comments from Mihail, with many of them responding negatively to this post and sharing some concern with regards to the welfare of their club. Read the reactions of some Charlton fans to this post in the tweets below.

To be fair there was more substance to the answers of some pretty direct questions by @CAStrust so I’m clear on their POV …
whether you believe the answers is another question. Still ? sounds like Nimer is a fraud!

Round & round in circles. Duchatelet didn’t care about #cafc but he made no secret of it, with ESI it’s difficult to believe anything they say now. #cafc

Do you believe that Tahnoon Nimer will inject funds into Charlton Athletic?NOYES |
Seems like only 2 possible situations are that Nimer has no money and is absolutely playing us (likely), or he is minted but is holding the club and it’s staff to ransom over a personal vendetta…

Who honestly even cares anymore, at this point?

Hard to believe they rejected other bids for the club using the reasoning it wasn’t in the best interest of the club. This lot couldn’t care in the slightest about the best interests of the club. Haven’t since day one.

What do we think?
As recently as the beginning of May, The Evening Standard reported that Nimer still hadn’t injected funds into the club. With that in mind, as well as Nimer’s alleged reasons for not being prepared to inject additional funds into the club at present, it seems as though Nimer may not have the best interests of Charlton at heart. Therefore, it may be understandable why some Addicks fans appear to have some concerns about the club’s majority shareholder.
