Some Celtic fans have slammed the latest tweet that BBC journalist Tom English recently posted.
English quote-tweeted an article from The Guardian’s Ewan Murray. The outlet had reported about a loan that the SPFL made to Gretna in 2008, and since that remained unpaid, the SPFL will not risk loaning money to Scottish clubs during the ongoing pandemic.
This comes after English had taken a stance against SPFL chairman Murdoch MacLennan in a tweet of his some days ago, in which he had criticised MacLennan for not making himself ‘available for journalists’, despite having worked in the media for 40 years.
English shared this tweet from Murray, while saying that the case of Gretna’s was ‘strange’ and that the SPFL needs to ‘shed some light’ on the issue.
On seeing what English had tweeted, Celtic fans flocked to the tweet. They made their displeasure for English very clear.
One thing at a time surely Tom?
At the moment we have 1 club holding the whole of Scottish football to ransom over claims which they refuse to actually evidence.
It is an utterly bizarre situation and I am afraid you as a journo have failed at any point to advance this story.

Does Tom English have an agenda against Celtic?
Of course
No, he doesn't
Embarrassing at this point.

Tom you have backed the wrong horse. Despite being provided with facts from the SPFL you still continue to go down this road. Why???

You are clearly on agenda but under who’s instruction I wonder ? You have now lost all credibility as a journalist. Reason being is, you told folk to move on during the biggest scandal in Scottish football history in 2012 but yet, your clutch at straws with this! #Succulentlamb

What do we think?
The Guardian report shows that things are getting complicated in Scottish football, but English merely goes on to criticise the SPFL once again. The comments of the Celtic fans show that they feel that English is taking the side of rivals Rangers in continuing to question the organisation.
