Some Celtic fans have been raving at a video involving Martin O’Neill that emerged on Twitter.
Hoops-related account ‘CelticLisboa’ recently posted a video of O’Neill that included the former Hoops boss talking after Celtic’s game against Juventus in Turin back in 2001.
The video had O’Neill talk about the team’s ‘extraordinary’ performance. But he also said that the players were ‘devastated’ the team lost and so was he, having felt aggrieved at the award of a late penalty which had gifted the hosts a late victory.
Many Celtic fans flocked to this tweet. They made their appreciation for O’Neill very clear.
What a guy…the passion he had for the club was immense.

O’Neill had been the Celtic manager from 2001 till 2005. He went on to have managerial spells at Aston Villa, Sunderland and Nottingham Forest (via Transfermarkt).
What do we think?
As the Hoops boss, O’Neill won three Premiership titles, three Scottish Cup titles and one League Cup crown. It shows how successful his tenure at Parkhead was.
That may show why these Celtic fans still have a lot of respect for O’Neill. The video is a clear indication of how much passion he had for the Hoops, despite the team having lost 3-2 to the Old Lady in that particular game.
