Some Celtic fans have been raging at Andy Gray after the pundit made some comments about the Scottish clubs.
Gray was recently talking to BeIN Sports (via Daily Record) and he said that Celtic and their Old Firm rivals need to look ‘somewhere else’ if they want to play ‘competitive football’. He went on to recommend the Premier League as a potential destination for both Scottish giants.
The ex-Sky Sports pundit said:
“Rangers and Celtic have to play competitive football and if they are not getting competitive football, or enough people, or enough competition in Scotland they’re going to have to look for somewhere else.
“And where is the best place for Rangers and Celtic to go play? In my opinion, it’s always been the one thing the Premier League can add to something that has been so successful, to maybe make it even better for me, would be two very strong Rangers and Celtic sides.”
The Daily Record relayed these comments from Gray on Twitter. However, many Celtic fans were left angry about Gray’s idea.
Yawn

Is there a chance Celtic ever play in the Premier League?
Absolutely!
No chance
That ship has never sailed. Even Scotland don’t want Rangers.

What do we think?
The comments of Celtic fans show that they aren’t too keen about the idea of moving to English football. A report from earlier this year stated that paperwork was exchanged between Rangers and Celtic in 2011 about this issue. In that sense, the ship may have sailed on this idea and it is time for the likes of Gray to move on.
