Paterson is currently 19 and is a product of the Celtic youth academy. He had joined the club’s Under-18s team back in 2018 before stepping up to the reserves team last summer (via Transfermarkt).
The teenager is yet to make a single first-team appearance for the Hoops, but he was in the club’s Challenge Cup squad and remained on the bench for both games (via Transfermarkt).
What do we think?
The comments of the Celtic fans show that they are looking forward to seeing the youngster succeed. Considering how he has signed a new deal, perhaps the club trusts him to impress and potentially break into the first team soon.
