Some Celtic fans have been talking about the latest transfer news, which has seen them linked with a move for Legia Warsaw left-back Michal Karbownik.
The Daily Record recently relayed some information about the Hoops’ interest in signing Karbownik. The report said that Celtic have watched the left-back twice this season and are keeping tabs on him. However, the report also talked of interest from La Liga side Real Betis and Russian outfit Dynamo Moscow.
Meanwhile, Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo has reported about Barcelona’s interest in Karbownik, alongside a number of other European clubs.
CelticBible relayed the Hoops’ interest in the left-back on Twitter and this left Celtic fans talking. They had a variety of things to say about it.
Sounds like agent-talk. We have at least 3 players for that position.

Should Celtic make a summer move for Karbownik?
No point!
Sign him!
I’d take him, don’t trust Taylor yet especially in a back 3 and Boli gets injured

Why? Don’t need him got boli and lennon favourite Hayes playing there

Hopefully he’s a first team player and not another project

Another LB, well I suppose we’ve wasted £6m on two duds, so another couple mil won’t hurt too much.

His right arm will never pass a medical

Whenever I see a Spanish club is an option for a player we’re interested in I pretty much resign myself to him going there ??

At 19, Karbownik has been a regular for Legia this season. He has made 19 appearances in the league, picking up six assists. He has also made three appearances in the Polish Cup this season (via Transfermarkt).
What do we think?
As per Transfermarkt, this is Karbownik’s first season in the club’s senior side. Getting six league assists in his first full season is an impressive contribution from a young full-back learning his trade. His current Transfermarkt value stands at £3.24 million.
However, Celtic already have Greg Taylor and Boli Bolingoli in his position, while Jonny Hayes has often played at left-back this season. Having another player in the left-back position may therefore not be worthwhile, so this move could perhaps be worth avoiding for the Hoops.
