Celtic fans on Twitter have been reacting to the latest claims made by retired striker Steven Thompson.
This comes after the Daily Record shared a post on their page that included an article from their website relaying recent comments made by Thompson on the BBC’s Scottish Football podcast.
Thompson claimed that it would be “impossible” to award Celtic the league title if the current season is not continued.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Celtic fans who were not happy with these remarks from Thompson.
Here’s a sample of Celtic fans responding to the post:
'Impossible' for Celtic to be seen as champions if league isn't finished says ex-Rangers strikerhttps://t.co/v7n8mni8LH pic.twitter.com/GWIlk2ubNF

What about his other former club Dundee Utd being declared champions ? Did anyone ask his opinion on that ? Naw ? I didn’t think so.

How is it impossible when the French, Dutch and Belgium Leagues have decided otherwise… definitely not impossible

Yes but they will, as UEFA have stated, sporting merit. 13 pts clear is more than merit with 80% of games played……???

Is Steven Thompson talking nonsense?
Yes
No
Neil Lennon’s side are currently 13 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table (per BBC Sport). Now that Thompson has come out and claimed that Celtic should not be awarded the title if the season is ended abruptly, even though that is exactly what has happened in France with Paris Saint-Germain, this sparked a big reaction on Twitter.
Even tho he said Celtic were going to win the league. Aw shut up Steven ?????

What do we think?
Considering their position in the table and Thompson’s links with Rangers, it’s understandable why these Celtic fans would not be willing to accept Thompson’s opinions when it comes to the league title.
