A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from Toon For Change.
They point out that while all this takeover talk is going on, Newcastle still have all non-playing staff on furlough leave and have taken money from fans for next season’s matches, which could be played behind closed doors.
The Toon were the first Premier League club to put staff on furlough and though the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have reversed their decision, the Toon have not.
Season ticket money was taken from some fans on the 25th of March and the Newcastle United Supporters Trust sent a letter to the club asking for the funds to be returned.
Still, they have received no answer despite the fact the Premier League are considering playing the whole of next season behind closed doors.
Do you find this shocking by Newcastle?
Yes, none of this should be happening
No, nothing surprises me with Newcastle anymore
This tweet has not gone down well with many Toon fans who are fuming.
Away from takeover talk, non-playing staff are still on furlough leave and the club are withholding thousands of pounds in ticket payments for games that will go ahead behind closed doors if at all #NUFC pic.twitter.com/MOTNLDZYuv

Almost as though the current ownership are squeezing every last penny out the club and fan base before they leave

This is something that the new owners will rectify i believe straight away nothing will change until the takeover though

What do we think?
Newcastle are in the middle of a proposed takeover, and one of the first moves by the potential new owners could be to take staff off furlough.
Just for their sake, we hope this takeover goes through.
