Fans of West Ham United have been reacting to contract talk on the Hammers’ young defender Jeremy Ngakia.
According to @ExWHUemployee, the young full-back has been offered a new contract by the club, however, he has not yet accepted it (via @whufc_news), which had fans talking.
Jeremy Ngakia has been offered a new deal with the club, but he has not accepted it just yet.
He has not rejected the offer, but he has been offered a deal that is not reflective of a potential first team regular.

Zaba is on 90k a week and Ngakia is twice the player he is currently at nearly half the age. Its a no brainer.

Not another young player that wants big wages before he’s really proved himself. Imagine my shock ?

When will we learn, give him a proper deal, must keep our best youngsters

Should Jeremy Ngakia be offered the contract of a first-team regular?Yes, he's good enoughNo, that would be naive |
In their podcast, @ExWHUemployee also stated that while the 19-year-old has not rejected the contract offer from the club, it is not one that is reflective of a potential first-team regular.
With the contract talk on the defender being shared to the London Stadium faithful on social media (via @whufc_news), fans continued to air their responses.
He isn’t a first team regular yet, greedy agent no doubt

That may be because he is NOT a first team regular

Give this king what he wants!

Huge fan of Ngakia, however, unsure as to what he feels or expects would be the case in terms of contract improvements given the fact he has only played five or six games for the first team so far in his career.

What do we think?
As can be seen in these responses from West Ham supporters, the contract talk seems to have split opinions between those who believe that he should not be on the contract of a first-team regular and others who believe he should.
However, after earning a 6.6/10 average rating over just four Premier League appearances (per WhoScored), it seems likely that it would be naive to offer the 19-year-old a large contract.
