A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from NUFC 360 that has relayed news from the Daily Express.
They claim that the Premier League have given the Toon’s proposed takeover by Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium the ‘green light’.
They do not cite any other sources, but they claim an official announcement ‘could be made in the coming days’.
This has pleased many Toon fans who apparently feel that they won’t have much longer to wait for the takeover to be confirmed.

What do we think?
NUFC 360 rates this story as a 4/10 for reliability, so maybe some Toon fans are getting ahead of themselves.
However, an official Saudi Arabian news channel claimed that the Toon’s takeover had been approved, and they cited the Express’ article (according to The Athletic’s George Caulkin).
Caulkin, though, claimed that the consortium are still waiting for a call from the Premier League to say the deal is done.
Therefore, maybe these Toon fans have got a bit excited too quickly – we will just have to wait and see.
