A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to a tweet from NUFC 360, which has relayed quotes made by Sky Sports on Kalidou Koulibaly.
They claim that if the Toon’s proposed takeover goes through, Newcastle will target the 28-year-old in the summer.
This has drawn a reaction from these Toon fans, who seem unconvinced – and would rather the takeover be announced than hearing links to players.
If the takeover happens would you take Koulibaly?
Yes, without question
No, we have enough centre-backs
Newcastle United's prospective new owners want to sign Kalidou Koulibaly if they are allowed to buy the club by the Premier League. #nufc [Sky Sports News]

What do we think?
Koulibaly is worth £50.4m (as per Transfermarkt) and has an average WhoScored match rating of 6.78 in Serie A this season; however, we agree with these Toon fans that it is pointless linking any players to Newcastle until the takeover is officially announced.
The deal for Mike Ashley to sell Newcastle to Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium is currently with the Premier League, though, according to Craig Hope, there might not be an announcement until next week.
Therefore, we think that this rumour linking the Toon with a move for Koulibaly is rather pointless until an official statement is made on the takeover.
