A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from NUFC 360, which has relayed news from a report in The Times.
The report claims that the proposed takeover of Newcastle by Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium has hit ‘significant political obstacles that could hold up any sale of the club.’
It is believed that Giles Watling, a Conservative MP and member of the Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport Committee, has called for a select committee to hold an evidence session based on Saudi Arabian piracy of British sport.
This has provoked a big reaction from these Toon fans who appear to be losing hope that the takeover will be completed.
Has this report worried you?
Yes, it seems they are determined to stop this takeover
No, it won't be an issue

What do we think?
The deal for Mike Ashley to sell Newcastle is currently with the Premier League going through checks.
Still, a decision that was expected this week has been delayed because of new evidence handed to the Premier League regarding piracy.
If this report is to be believed, then the government might become involved – despite previously saying that they wouldn’t.
However, this new report does seem to have worried these Toon fans.
