A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Keith Downie regarding the proposed takeover of the Toon.
Reporter John Richardson confirmed yesterday that he was expecting an imminent announcement as the Premier League have approved the deal.
This was then followed by a story in the Daily Express saying the same thing before a report appeared on an official Saudi Arabian news channel claiming that the Premier League had approved the takeover.
This caused one fan to tweet, asking both Downie and Pete Graves if they had heard anything. Downie responded and claimed that the league have not approved the takeover yet.
This clearly disappointed some Toon fans.
Has Downie's update frustrated you?

Not as I understand it – but I don’t understand much these days. Seriously though, not yet. https://t.co/PIFJG77LoY

What do we think?
The deal for Mike Ashley to sell Newcastle to Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium has been with the Premier League for a while now after a deposit was paid to Ashley.
Paul Smith claimed that the league were ‘very close’ to approving the deal, but according to Downie, that has not happened yet, which has frustrated many Toon fans.
