A group of Newcastle supporters have been responding to a recent post from their former boss Rafa Benitez. The Spaniard managed the club between March 2016 and June 2019 but now finds himself in the Chinese Super League with Dalian Professional (as per Transfermarkt.co.uk).
The former Valencia boss’ departure from St. James’ Park only increased the pressure on the relationship between the club’s owner Mike Ashley and the fans (as per BBC Sport). Benitez was replaced by Steve Bruce, but having shared his latest blog via Twitter, the replies were dominated by Magpies fans calling for the 60-year-old’s return.

What do we think?
It’s been recently reported that Steve Bruce will be given until the end of the season to prove himself to the prospective owners if and when the takeover of the club is complete. However, in our view, if the club has ambitions of competing at the top end of the Premier League they are likely to look for another manager sooner rather than later and judging by the above responses, many would be happy to see Rafael Benitez return.
