Fans of Everton have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that state the Premier League’s plans to restart the league at neutral grounds are “on a knife-edge.”
According to recent reports in The Times, the Premier League’s plans to resume matches at neutral grounds are in jeopardy because of opposition from as many as eight top-flight clubs.
In reaction to the reports, which were relayed by The Gwladys Street on Twitter, fans of the club have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many suggesting that the Premier League’s plans are farcical, while others have questioned whether or not footballers have been given a say in the proposals.

Imagine your team needs 1 point to stay up, your last home game is now being played in a empty stadium at a ground 200 miles way.

One farce after another, absolute shambles.

Farcical idea, sporting integrity and fairness right out the window. Good on the 8 clubs for making a stand. It’s hard enough without fans but not playing in your own ground is a step too far. Will they start the new season on the same basis then switch when safe, again unfair.

If there’s 8 teams opposing then why would they play out their games

Where is the players choice in this? Do they have one? People talk about their safety but have they a choice? Much critism for employers not giving employees choices in the world so do football people/players get a choice?

What do we think?
If the recent reports are to be believed and the Premier League’s proposals are indeed being objected to by eight top-flight clubs, it is difficult to see a situation in which a resolution can be found.
In addition to this, as one Everton fan points out, it will be interesting to hear what the players have to say about the Premier League’s proposals, and whether or not they would feel comfortable with returning to the field while the current nationwide lockdown is, for now, still in effect.
However, it would seem that the vast majority of these Everton fans would rather not see football return under the current proposals.
