Some West Brom fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Baggies-focused Twitter account @WestBromNews, which asked West Brom fans to name the Albion signing that they were most excited about.
Some Baggies fans have been discussing Daniel Sturridge in response to the tweet. Sturridge joined West Brom on loan from Liverpool on 29 January 2018. The Baggies sat in 19th place in the Premier League table at the time, level on points with bottom club Swansea City.
One Baggies supporter responded to the post by sharing that they thought Sturridge’s goals would’ve saved the Baggies from relegation that season, however, despite signing the striker on loan, West Brom were ultimately demoted to the Championship that term after finishing in 20th place.

Thought Sturridge would’ve scored goals for fun and his goal would’ve kept us up. Big named player. Instead he limped off against Chelsea away after 4 minutes ish.

What do we think?
Sturridge had a total of 74 Premier League goals to his name in 114 starts prior to joining West Brom in January 2018, according to BBC Sport. With that in mind, it may be understandable why some West Brom fans may have been excited to see him join the club, in the hope that the former England international would help the Baggies to avoid the drop that season. However, Sturridge ended up accumulating just 116 minutes of Premier League football during his tenure at West Brom, failing to score a single goal in that time.
