Marc-Antoine Fortuné-88 apps,14 goals
Bit of a cult hero. Not so much for his goal returns but most definitely for his resillience & endeavour. Initial loan turned permanent signing following a year at Celtic

A decent player!

Underrated. Should have kept him and signed Lukaku on loan again when we had the chance instead instead of releasing him and getting Anichebe.
Honestly, my favourite Albion player. I don’t even know why. I just love him!

Good player for us. Brought so much more than goals. Big help to the rest of the team when we had to go long a beast at holding up and bringing others into play. Probably respected more from team mates than the uneducated fan

Who was the better forward for West Brom?Marc-Antoine FortuneSalomon Rondon |
Probably the most underrated player of the last quarter of a century. Brought so many unique abilities and a unique mindset to the table and would improve any of our teams from any era if you put him in it.

underrated like a lot of the players at that time seemed like Hodgson got the best out of him!

I liked him, thought he was a decent player.

Wasn’t a bad player at all. Held the ball up well & brought others into the game.

Better than Rondon

What do we think?
Fortune originally joined West Brom on loan from French club AS Nancy for the second half of the 2008/09 season. The attacker scored four goals and made four assists in 18 appearances during this loan spell at The Hawthorns.
After spending just over a year at Celtic, he subsequently rejoined West Brom on a permanent deal in August 2010. The attacker then went on to make 71 more appearances for West Brom, scoring another nine goals and providing another five assists for the club before ultimately leaving to join Wigan Athletic on a free transfer in July 2013.
While some of these West Brom supporters appear to have some fond memories of Fortune’s time at the club, it may be debatable whether or not he is better than fellow former Baggies forward Salomon Rondon, as one of the Baggies fans who responded to this post suggested he was, considering that Rondón scored 15 more goals and provided one more assist for West Brom than Fortune did.
