Supporters of Rangers have been reacting to a club announcement that revealed that ‘a number of employees’ would be furloughed.
As revealed in a statement on Monday evening, first-team players and staff are taking a three-month ‘salary deferral’ while other employees will be furloughed, however, still receive 100% of their wages through ‘top-up assistance’. Some fans were still left livid, though.

Poor using furlough. Should not be used if we can afford to pay players thousands of pounds per week.

Disgusting that we are furloughing staff

They are furloughing the staff !!! A football club expecting the government to pay its employees is a disgrace and I am a Rangers fan

What is your overall feeling towards the statement from Rangers?Positive, seems like a good moveNegative, we shouldn't furlough |
However, it would appear that those who were disappointed by the decision failed to notice that the players would be taking a three-month ‘salary deferral’ and other staff members would still be paid full wages (per Rangers).
So, following the news being relayed to Twitter (as per Rangers), many other supporters aired their delight with the club that staff would still be receiving full wages despite difficult circumstances.

What do we think?
As can be seen in the responses, it appears those that read the statement in full are delighted with the club and that they will be ensuring staff receive 100% of their wages.
The Gers have become one of a number of Scottish clubs to furlough staff (via Daily Record), however, with the players and first-team staff taking wage deferrals (per Rangers), it seems that they are doing all they can.
