Rangers are set to let Greg Stewart leave the club this summer having failed to make an impact at Ibrox – according to Football Insider.
The forward signed for the Glasgow-based club in July 2019 on a free transfer, and although his current contract is not due to expire until June 2021, the report claims Rangers are keen to offload the 30-year-old and are open to offers for his services.
Stewart has made 16 appearances in the Scottish Premiership so far this season, contributing three goals and three assists, but has only been named in the starting eleven for 10% of Rangers’ league games (via Transfermarkt.co.uk).
What have the Gers fans made of the reports he could move on as early as this summer?
I thought he did the job others should go before him

He’s a mid table team player in my opinion.

Would Rangers be wrong to allow Greg Stewart to leave this summer?
Yes
No
Horrendous decision. Squad player. Scores goals. Works hard. A LOT should go before him. He deserves to be there

What do we think?
It’s clear from the above responses that many Rangers fans are disappointed by these reports. The general consensus appears to be that Stewart hasn’t been given enough of an opportunity and still has an important part to play. The report claims that Steven Gerrard does not see the player as part of his plans going forward and therefore, for the benefit of his own career, it may be best for the former Birmingham City man to move on.
