Some Leeds United fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Whites-focused journalist Beren Cross, which states that Helder Costa has got “a lot to prove next season”.
Cross’ recent post shares a link to an article that was recently published by LeedsLive which explains that the Whites “will begin to pay the best part of £15m” for the Portuguese attacker this summer, as he will join Leeds “on a four-year contract” following the conclusion of his current loan spell with the club.
This article from LeedsLive also describes the attacker’s first season at Elland Road as “disappointing”. Some Whites fans have flocked to Cross’ recent tweet sharing this article to jump to the defence of Costa. One Leeds fan has declared that the 26-year-old “will keep on improving”, while another Whites supporter has taken this opportunity to state that Costa has been “getting better game by game”.

Helder Costa has a lot to prove next season (when it happens). Three goals and two assists does not scream £15m player. Got the Wolves view on what's to come and the direction his career's going. #lufc https://t.co/r0FkzoMzoy

quality player, but in current conditions 15 mill is a very, very high price.

No concerns here. Bielsaball isn’t an easy thing to learn and he’s getting better game by game

We were robbed let’s be honest

He will keep on improving under Bielsa , a more informed view will be next season !

Do you think that Helder Costa will improve next season?YES, HE WILL CONTINUE TO IMPROVENO, HE JUST ISN'T THAT GOOD |
He’s only just got started really Beren. No easy feat adapting to a Bielsa style and he had some bad Injury’s. Don’t really see the need to call him out and state “ A LOT TO PROVE “ Dont pick negative headlines for the sake of it ?? #lufc

Everyone said the same thing about Harrison last season look at him this season, same thing said before Bielsa arrived on Cooper Dallas Klich Roofe Phillips & other’s,can’t wholeheartedly judge a player after 27 league starts.Judge him properly after 2 full season under Bielsa IMO

I think maybe with a goal scorer in the team he would have 10 assists at least this season

What do we think?
Costa has earned an average overall rating of 6.67 from his 37 Championship appearances this season so far, according to WhoScored.com. However, the Portuguese attacker has earned a higher overall rating than that in four of his last five Championship appearances. This may indicate that Costa has delivered some positive performances in his most recent Championship games.
With that in mind, it may be understandable why some Whites fans have been sharing some positive opinions about Costa in response to this tweet.
