A group of Charlton Athletic supporters have been expressing their concerns regarding the future of the club. @Maccn5 on Twitter has called out the club’s owner Tahnoon Nimer for his failure to provide funding that had previously been promised and fears that this could result in the Addicks going into administration.
In response to his post, fellow fans have flocked to Twitter to air similar concerns. Here is what some of them have had to say.
The silence has been ridiculous , I at least expected some kind of statement about how the club was going to function and if these new directors had been finalised. All very concerning

Southall new Nimer was a wrongen, but didn’t care. That’s why he wasted no time whatsoever on spending the club money, on toys for himself. He knew it was just a matter of time before Nimer got cussed. So he had to spend the clubs money quickly

Scam artist, chancer and a blagger imo. The sort of bloke who would sell you fake Gucci. That’s where I’m at with all of them #CAFC

The club is being kept alive by emergency central payment money.
From January- Feb it was kept alive by the sell on money due for Gomez & Fosu.
5 months into Nimer’s pathetic charade, and he still can’t produce proof he’s got a nook to his name.#FakeSheikhOut— Henry Irving (@HenryIrving10) April 15, 2020
Are Charlton Athletic in danger of going into administration in the coming weeks?
Yes
No
Meanwhile, some feel that the EFL have failed to do their part in protecting the club from unsuitable ownership.
I don’t understand how this farce has gone on so long without the EFL approving the takeover. What happens if they declare the takeover nul and void?
— Andrew Roth (@Roth1Andrew) April 15, 2020
Serious questions need to be asked to the EFL. Not once but twice they’ve let incompetent owners into the club and we could be in big trouble because of it now. They are at massive fault for all of this

What do we think?
It’s clear from the above responses that some members of Charlton’s fanbase are gravely concerned for the future of their football club. The Addicks are not only in a troubled position off of the pitch but they also find themselves in a precarious position on it. Lee Bowyer’s side are currently in the Championship’s bottom three and relegation back down to League One is a real possibility. As things stand, they are two points from safety but in our view, the boardroom chaos that has been unfolding for quite some time can’t have been helpful to the playing staff.
