Some Celtic fans have made it clear that they would have prime Jimmy ‘Jinky’ Johnstone back at the club.
Hoops-related Twitter page Celtic1967.com recently posted to ask fans to name the player that they would have back at the club in their prime.
Many Celtic fans took the name of Johnstone as they swamped the replies.
Jinky, too young to have ever seen him play, would be a dream come true

Undoubtedly the Greatest Ever Celt Jimmy Jinky Johnston. A truly remarkable player, I feel sad ?? for the generations of @CelticFC #fans who never got to see him in his #prime #unstoppable

Since I was born in 1981, I never got to see Jinky play for Celtic. I just seen videos and dvds of him. So I’d pick Jinky.
Now, if we could pick 2 players, it would be Jinky and Larsson. pic.twitter.com/Eut8BI3GFw— A Celtic Supporter (@Henrik0707) April 16, 2020
Jinky ?

Johnstone joined the Celtic first team in the summer of 1961 and was at Parkhead until the winter of 1975, when he joined San Jose Clash (via Transfermarkt).
What do we think?
Johnstone’s status at the club is undoubted, with the man himself crowned as the ‘Greatest Ever Celt’ by supporters.
This shows how iconic a player he was at the club. He won nine Scottish First Division titles (via Transfermarkt) and judging by the comments of the fans, he left behind quite the legacy and carved out a special place in their hearts.
