Spurs fans have been discussing Ajax’s Donny van de Beek after it was suggested that the North London club are interested in the Dutch midfielder.
According to Football.London (via Ricky Sacks), the club have been making tentative inquiries with the Eredivisie side over the past 12 months about potentially signing the 22-year-old. So far this season, the young midfielder has been superb in the Dutch top-flight; averaging an impressive 7.41 rating for his performances; having contributed eight goals and five assists.
He may be well known to Spurs fans already, having scored the only goal in last season’s Champions League semi-final first leg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Currently valued at £39.6 million by transfermarkt, it would likely be an expensive deal for the Lilywhites should they make any advancements with their reported inquiries.

Most of these Spurs fans are clearly excited by the prospect of signing Van de Beek this summer.
What do we think?
Spurs are arguably already well-stocked in central-midfield considering that they have got the likes of Giovani Lo Celso, Tanguy Ndombele and Moussa Sissoko available to play there, so considering the fee that they would likely have to pay for Van de Beek, this one looks unlikely at this point.
